Christopher Barry turns himself in after threatening bank teller

Christopher Barry (the son of the late four-term mayor Marion Barry) turns himself in to police after threatening a bank teller on January 14. He announced plans to run for the Ward 8 council seat earlier this month. Shortly after launching his campaign, he allegedly threatened a bank teller at the PNC Bank, tossed a trash can and broke a security camera upon hearing his account was overdrawn. Barry faces misdemeanor charges of making a threat and destruction of property. Neither Barry nor his campaign has responded directly to the accusation. Barry is expected to turn himself in Tuesday or Wednesday. Christopher Barry has admitted to marijuana possession in the past, and in 2013 was charged with DUI.
