Evangelical pastor Tony Evans of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas has stepped down due to a past
unnamed “sin.” In his statement, Evans emphasized the importance of adhering to biblical standards and
repentance. He clarified that while he committed no crime, he failed to exercise righteous judgment in his
actions.
The decision followed extensive discussions with church elders. Interim leadership plans will be
announced soon. Evans, who founded the church in 1976, also hosts a global radio program and has
served as chaplain for the Dallas Cowboys and Mavericks.
