WASHINGTON, DC NEWS – Record-breaking heat wave extends to the July 4th weekend

Scorching temperatures are forecasted to hit various parts of the United States starting Friday, with potentially higher temperatures expected over the weekend. The country’s eastern half, including the Midwest, Northeast, and Southeast, will experience widespread heat waves.

The upcoming heatwave is expected to hit the area starting on Friday, with temperatures predicted to soar even higher over the weekend. In cities such as Washington, D.C., authorities are urging residents to take precautions, due to the extreme heat.  Warnings including staying hydrated, avoiding prolonged sun exposure, and checking on vulnerable populations such as the elderly and young children have been issued.
