More than a hundred people in D.C. did not heed the warnings of officials to move vehicles from snow emergency routes. Subsequently, those cars got impounded.  Warnings were issued not to park on snow emergency routes after 7:00 a.m. Tuesday so that snow plows could clean up the roadways. On Tuesday afternoon, 132 vehicles were ticketed and towed since the snow emergency began. Vehicles could be fined $250 if they were parked on snow emergency routes, which are clearly marked, and owners charged $100 in towing. There is also a twenty dollar per day storage fee for the cars. The snow emergency declaration was lifted as of 2:00 p.m. Tuesday.
