The Washington Redskins have filed an appeal over the decision of the Trademark Trial and Appeal board to end the team’s federal trademark registrations. The team filed the appeal as a “complaint” and are now waiting to hear from a federal judge instead of the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Bob Raskopf, the trademark attorney for the Washington Redskins said, “We believe that the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board ignored both federal case law and the weight of the evidence, and we look forward to having a federal court review this obviously flawed decision.” The Redskins maintain their trademark registrations while the case is in federal court.
