Sexual harassment allegations leveled against Cain

0

Republican candidate Herman Cain discussed Monday details of sexual harassment allegations leveled against him when he was head of the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s. Cain recalled that he had made a reference to a female employee’s height, which she took issue with in a formal complaint against the association. Cain admitted he remembered the incident, but that nothing was intended by it. He said he was unaware of any settlement made, but then backtracked, saying, “I don’t remember a number…we ended up settling for what would have been a termination settlement.”

A second incident involved a woman who claimed Cain had made “an unwanted sexual advance” at a hotel event. Cain said he knew her, but does not recall the alleged incident or have knowledge of the original complaint. Cain referred to the attacks as a “witch hunt” designed to distract from the campaign.
