Hillary Clinton expected to impact 2014 mid-term elections

Many people have started advocating for Hillary Clinton to run in the 2016 presidential race, but until then, Clinton will have a role to play in the mid-term elections, and supporters are vowing to follow her recommendations closely. Clinton has not officially said yet whether she will campaign for her fellow Democratic candidates, but spokesman for the National Republican Senatorial Committee, Brad Dayspring, said they “anticipate there will be some appearances…on the campaign trail.” Dayspring added that her efforts could also serve as a sort of “testing…for themes and things that might work for the prospective Clinton campaign.”

Matt Canter with the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee said in reference to Clinton’s participation in the 2014 elections: “I think you will see President Clinton, I can say that for sure.” However, spokesman for Clinton’s office, Nick Merrill, said “it’s still 2013, so a bit too early to start addressing 2014.”

The group Ready for Hillary, which supports Clinton’s possible presidential candidacy, said that it will focus on her current goals, and spread those messages to other supporters. “We know that we have an opportunity to take the energy and excitement that people have about a potential Hillary candidacy and communicate with those supporters in a way that’s helpful to the Democratic Party as a whole,” said the group’s spokesman Seth Bringman. “We’re going to look to engage our supporters in those elections….They’re very excited about 2016 but there are issues and efforts that are very important in the meantime.”
