Paterno in hospital with fractured pelvis

Former Penn State head coach Joe Paterno was admitted to the hospital Sunday with a fractured pelvis. He slipped and fell in his home on the previous night. The injury will not require surgery, but doctors made the decision to keep him in the hospital. Paterno is also undergoing chemotherapy to treat his lung cancer.

Paterno lost his job as head coach last month amid the Jerry Sandusky child sex-abuse scandal. While Paterno has not faced any criminal accusations, he was criticized that he had not done more when sexual assault allegations against Sandusky surfaced.
