A Maine kite-skier collided into a metal shed, causing fatal injuries on Monday. The victim, 49-year-old Adam Tsapis, was on Crystal Lake in Harrison at about 11:00 a.m. Tsapis was using a kite to propel him across the snow, when a sudden blast of wind took hold of his kite and lifted him off the ice. He then drifted ashore and collided with the shed. Chief Deputy Naldo Gagnon of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s office stated that the man suffered life-threatening injuries to a leg and arm. Tsapis was transported first to Bridgton Hospital and then flown to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, where he passed away from his injuries.
