George Zimmerman’s attorney pulls out

Attorney Mark O’Mara was successful in representing George Zimmerman in this year’s infamous murder trial, but has stated that he is “not representing George Zimmerman in his recent domestic altercation case or his impending divorce case.” O’Mara is referring to Monday’s incident where Zimmerman was involved in an altercation with his wife, Shellie, and her father, David Dean. Shellie called 911 on Monday, saying that she was “really scared” after Zimmerman had punched her father and was threatening them with a gun.

Though shortly detained, Zimmerman was not arrested for the quarrel, and no charges have been pressed against him. Police deputy chief Colin Morgan said that Zimmerman was only held in “investigative detention” while the situation was being investigated.

His wife did however file for a divorce, and a police spokesman said the two were still arguing over who started the fight. Police deputy Morgan said the fight “was between him and his wife and her father. There were some allegations that there had been an assault, but we could not confirm any of it.”
