President Obama plans to increase airstrikes on Islamic State long the Iraq-Syria border, according to recent conversations. The President has been discussing options with bipartisan foreign-policy experts this week. According to those individuals, Obama feels his plan does not need congressional approval and would be implemented in the name of U.S. national security. This move would be a large escalation of military response in Obama’s foreign policy plan compared to that of the rest of his administration. The president will address the country today, Wednesday evening.
