The police chief of Anne Arundel County is holding his officers to the same expectation as civilian drivers by banning them from the use of hand-held cellphones while behind the wheel.
A spokesman for the department says that officers must be exempt from some laws for emergency reasons, but those who do not abide by the ban will be reprimanded.
Police Chief Kevin Davis expects officers to set a good example for other motorists by complying with the cellphone ban.
