A volunteer firefighter lost his home to a fire early Friday in Lusby, Maryland. He responded to the blaze with his volunteer team, but initially had no idea it was his own home. According to the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal, the fire was discovered by a neighbor at about 5:36 a.m. It began in the master suite of said residence, located in the 11-thousand block of Rawhide Road. It is said that the fire was caused by an electrical event involving an outlet. There were no injuries were reported, and no sprinkler system was in the home. The firefighter’s fellow comrades have established funding accounts to raise money for his loss. There are two ways to donate: A GoFundMe Page and through the Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department official site.
