Maryland court upholds gun law

A federal court of appeals ruled Maryland’s law of having a legitimate reason for carrying a handgun constitutional. On Thursday, the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals overturned a ruling made in March 2012 by U.S. District Judge Benson E. Legg.

Legg made a ruling that the right to bear arms should not be limited to the household. He believed the original law enforced by Maryland restricted the number of firearms to only those who had a “good reason” for owning one.
