A couple in Prince George County will serve time in prison for employing a Filipina woman for over a decade. Gloria and Alfred Edwards have admitted to bringing the woman into the United States under false pretenses and illegally obtaining a permanent resident status for her.
The couple forced the woman to work 12 to 14 hour days. A judge has ordered them to pay a $400,000 restitution for how little they paid the woman. The couple each pleaded guilty to harboring the woman. Gloria received 12 months in prison, and her husband received 3 months.
