Food Network’s comfort cooking chef, Paula Deen, has revealed that she’s been diagnosed with diabetes. She and her family have been waiting three years for an appropriate time to announce it to her fan base. Deen reportedly said that she is not going to change the comfort cooking that made her a star. “I’ve always said, ‘Practice moderation y’all,’” Deen said on Tuesday on NBC’s “Today” show. “You can have diabetes and have a piece of cake. You cannot have diabetes and eat the whole cake.” Deen will continue to cook southern comfort food, but has agreed to endorse a diabetes drug for a Danish company.
