Miss America, Nina Davuluri, is asking a Pennsylvania school district to not suspend the senior who asked her to prom during a question and answer portion of an assembly. Davuluri posted a statement on the Miss America Organization’s Facebook page claiming she contacted Central York High School asking officials to reconsider the three day in-school suspension the school issued to Patrick Farves, 18. She also says that her travel schedule will prevent her from attending the dace with Farves. School officials were aware that Farves intended on asking Davuluri to prom and warned him not do it. However, fellow students cheered afterward and Farves was suspended for misbehavior. He later apologized for disrupting the event. Davuluri was at the school speaking on the importance of science, technology, engineering, and math studies.
