Cameron Diaz writing nutrition book

Actress Cameron Diaz is making her entrance into the publishing word and writing a book on the importance of proper nutrition and staying healthy. The “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” star hopes to target impressionable young girls. A publishing source told E! News that Diaz “wants to stop their fixation on being thin, and for teenage girls to understand that being healthy is more important.” Diaz, who became famous during the 1990s with roles in the movies “The Mask” and “My Best Friend’s Wedding,” understands that she is a role model to girls and hopes to use that position positively.

The 39-year-old actress doesn’t have a publishing deal in place yet, but she has signed on with a literary agent. She plans to visit high schools around the country to speak with teenagers about their food choices. Her untitled book will feature advice and expertise from top nutritionists as well as some of her star friends, including Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Lopez and Gwyneth Paltrow. When the book does hit shelves, Diaz also plans on launching an accompanying website to further educate young girls on health issues.
