Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong is joining the mentoring team on NBC’s “The Voice.” The band’s vocalist and guitarist will be mentoring Christina Aguilera’s team this coming season. According to Armstrong, “The Voice” has won over viewers because “it’s not molding artists, it’s just giving them a little bit of guidance and direction without giving them a complete makeover.”
The 40-year-old “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” and “Time of Your Life” singer started taping Wednesday and has said that working with Aguilera is “a lot of fun.” “The Voice” returns Sept. 10.
