After taking about a month off to recover her health, Barbara Walters is scheduled to return to ‘The View’ next week. She slipped and fell while walking down some stairs while attending a party at the British ambassador’s residence. She was taken to the hospital and while she was treated for a concussion, doctors discovered she had in fact fainted due to a fever from chicken pox, a disease that is common in small children but very rare for a person of her age. She is fully recovered now and has announced she will return to the show on March 4.
“Hello, my darlings,” Walters said in a telephone call to her co-hosts. “I’m so glad to be talking to you. … I really miss you.”
“Like it or not, I’m coming back on the show again,” Walters said. “No more chicken pox. … I haven’t been contagious for a while, but they wanted me to have rest, and I’ve had enough rest and I’m ready to come back.”
