The United Nations’ International Court of Justice ruled on Friday that Israel must take measures to prevent genocide in Gaza. The court stopped short of ordering an immediate ceasefire.
“In exercising the order, there would have to be a ceasefire,” said South Africa’s Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor following the hearing. “Without it the order doesn’t actually work.”
