Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza was bombed on Tuesday killing more than 500 people. Hamas has blamed Israel for the strike against the hospital. The Israel Defense Forces have denied any involvement and claim that intelligence points towards a “failed rocket launch” from a Palestinian Islamic Jihad Group as responsible.

A four-way summit previously planned for Wednesday between Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Jordan’s King Abdullah ll, President Biden, and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has been canceled. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told reporters “The news coming out of Gaza is horrific and absolutely unacceptable. International humanitarian and international law needs to be respected in this and all cases. There are rules around wars and it’s not acceptable to hit a hospital.” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said “Striking a hospital where there are women, children, and innocent civilians is the latest example of Israel’s attacks devoid of fundamental human values. I call on all humanity to take action to stop Israel’s unprecedented brutality in Gaza,” in a post on social media.
