A Metropolitan Police officer fatally shot a man experiencing a mental health crisis. The man attacked a medic inside an ambulance and ran away, he then assaulted an officer before he was fatally shot.
In December the Metropolitan Police Department announced new training to help diffuse crisis intervention situations. “This is a tragic situation and our condolences go to the family,” said D.C. Fire and EMS Chief John Donnelly.
