Va. Republicans react to same-sex marriage ruling

The Republican majority in the Virginia House of Delegates has vowed to create legislation that ensures opponents of same sex marriage do not experience discrimination. With a state legislative election in the fall, Democrats believe the Republicans are trying to win votes with their talk about religious freedom, without legitimate plans to enact laws. Although the House of Delegates in Virginia will certainly continue to be Republican-led, the Senate race is much closer. Republicans insist on their sincerity in their fight to protect those who disagree with the Supreme Court ruling in favor of same sex marriage.
