United Continental’s CEO and chairman Jeff Smisek has stepped down, the company said on Tuesday. The departure follows a company investigation relating to a federal probe. “The departures announced today are in connection with the company’s previously disclosed internal investigation related to the federal investigation associated with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey,” the company said in a statement.
The company has named Oscar Munoz, former president and COO of CSX Corporation, as its new president and CEO.
