Police: woman’s purse stolen, is shot while chasing suspect

Fairfax County police are investigating the robbery and shooting of a 66-year-old woman. Police say the incident occurred late Saturday night in the 5000 block of Kenerson Drive. The woman was near the front door when the suspect, described as a black woman, took her purse and ran. The victim chased the suspect to a car driven by a black man. One of the suspects shot her in the arm as they drove away. The victim does not have life-threatening injuries.
