More than $10 million spent on Senate campaign ads

The race for Virginia’s two Senate seats has led to more than $10 million in spending by candidates and outside groups on more than 20,000 television ads. GOP nominee Glen Sturtevant led the spending, with $915,000. Following Sturtevant were Democrats Jeremy McPike and Dan Gecker, spending $888,000 and $770,000 respectively. GOP candidate Hal Parrish spent the least with $437,000. Michael Bloomberg’s gun control group led all spenders with $2.1 million in estimated spending trying to help the Democrats.
