The Missouri grand jury that is deciding whether to charge of Officer Darren Wilson in the fatal shooting of unarmed teenager Michael Brown now has until January 7, 2015. The August 9 shooting of the black teen by the white officer prompted protests and international attention on Ferguson, MO, where the population is two-thirds black and most of the police force white. Police and witnesses have released conflicting statements on the event. The jury, made of nine white people and three black people, meets in secret. Wilson continues to be suspended with pay.
