The U.S. State Department confirmed that 23 American citizens have been killed in Israel since Oct. 7. Of the 23 killed, 21 were serving in the Israel Defense Forces, one served in the Israel National Police, and 17-year-old Tawfic Hafeth Abdel Jabbar.
There are 10,000 Americans currently serving in the Israel Defense Forces, according to Israeli officials.
