On Monday, Washington County officials approved plans for a new medical marijuana facility in Hopewell Valley Industrial Park, near Hagerstown. The company, Green Thumb Industries LLC, plans on building immediately if awarded one of the state’s 15 cultivation license after this year. The local economy is expected to benefit from about $12 million in investments, including job creation and property development.
