Fans of rapper Tyler the Creator threaten Australian feminist

An Australian feminist has received a number of online rape and death threats from fans of U.S. rapper Tyler the Creator after he mistakenly claimed that she had him banned from Australia. On Monday, Tyler tweeted that he had been denied a visa to play his scheduled shows in Australia. This later turned out to be incorrect, and his visa application is still being assessed. Coralie Alison is the director of operators for the Australian feminist organization Collective Shout, which campaigned to have Tyler kept out of Australia on the grounds that his music incites hatred towards women. One user tweeted, “I’m coming to kill you,” and another tweeted, “We will all rape you.” Last year, Tyler and his group were banned from performing in New Zealand on the grounds that they were a potential threat to the public and had incited violence at past performances.
