Cecil the lion’s brother still alive

Researchers confirmed Sunday that Jericho the lion is still alive in his Zimbabwe habitat after reports that he was illegally poached. These reports were especially controversial because of recent outrage after an American dentist killed Jericho’s brother Cecil, who was a protected animal. Zimbabwe is attempting to extradite the dentist. Although Cecil and Jericho are not related by blood, they are referred to as brothers because of the close relationship between male lions. Jericho is now caring for Cecil’s 24 cubs.
