Deputy in Frederick County suspended for assault

A Frederick County deputy was suspended after allegedly punching a man in the face over the weekend.

Forty-four-year-old Deputy First Class Kevin White of Hagerstown was officially suspended Wednesday and is being charged with second-degree assault.

The incident took place outside of a Hagerstown nightclub early Sunday.  The alleged victim is 24-year-old Travis Grant, who claims White punched him in the face following an argument.

White maintains he struck Grant in self-defense.
