Montgomery Country trash and recycling collectors went on strike early Friday morning, affecting about 12,000 households. They workers are striking against Unity Disposal, citing a refusal to negotiate a fair contract. Service delays are expected, but not cancelled. The county’s collections section chief Robin Ennis says she believes there are enough supervisory personnel and non-striking drivers to complete the routes.
