Terps’ new uniforms shock sports world

The Maryland Terrapins football team unveiled new uniforms Monday evening, and the team’s new look sparked controversy across the nation. Opening up at home against the ACC rival Miami Hurricanes, the Terps sported a design that payed homage to the state of Maryland, with a helmet completely covered in the gold, red, white and black of the Maryland flag.

Upon entering the field donned in their new uniforms, social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook became flooded with talk–some good and some bad–about Maryland’s new look. The game was held on national television as part of a 12-year-deal between the ACC and ESPN to host prime time games on Labor Day.
