SPORTS NEWS – Grab your valuable Shotei Ohtani baseball cards; the Dodgers make history in the World Series against Blue Jays
On Saturday night, the Canadian Blue Jays went head-to-head against the LA Dodgers in the 2025 World Series. The Dodgers came back from a 4-3 deficit at the top of the ninth inning when shortstop Miguel Rojas hit a solo home run to tie the game at four runs a piece and the game went into extra innings.
Then Dodgers catcher Will Smith, at the top of the 11th inning, hit a solo home run to begin the Dodger comeback.
Japanese phenom Shotei Ohtani started the game for the Dodgers, but began having trouble in the third inning. Yet the new 2022 regulation change dubbed the ‘Ohtani rule’ went into effect, and he was allowed to stay in the game as the designated hitter. As game 7 ran into extra innings, the Dodgers sealed the historic win in the 11th inning. Yoshinobu Yamamoto was was named Series MVP.
