Two teenage boys shot at Maryland high school
Two teenage boys were wounded in an unsolved shooting at a Maryland high school Wednesday night. One of the boys was shot in the leg outside Frederick High School during a junior varsity basketball game. The second boy was shot in the back. The two injured students, who did not attend Frederick High School, were flown to a hospital in Baltimore. The first boy was released from the hospital. The condition of the second boy has not been released yet, but his injuries are not life-threatening. The victims apparently knew the shooter or shooters. Gang violence and school rivalry are among the possible motives. The Frederick High varsity boys had beaten the crosstown rival, Governor Thomas Johnson High, the night prior the shootings. Frederick High and neighboring West Frederick Middle School will be closed Thursday for the police investigation, but will reopen Friday.
