Pedestrian struck and killed on Connecticut Ave.

A pedestrian was fatally hit by a vehicle on Connecticut Avenue near the National Zoo on Thursday, police say. The victim, Trudith Rishikok, 64, was struck at around 11 a.m. on the 3100 block of Connecticut Avenue in Northwest. She was taken to a hospital, and died shortly after of her injuries.

Connecticut Avenue was closed between Macomb Street and Cathedral Avenue. It reopened Thursday afternoon, and is now open in both directions.
