Man is sentenced 82 years for murder

Twenty-seven-year-old Irvin Johnson was convicted in February of two counts of first-degree premeditated murder. On Thursday, he was sentenced for the deaths of 32-year-old Jimmie Simmons and 31-year-old Dominique Barbour in July 2011.

Johnson ambushed three men in northeast D.C., and shot each of them in the head. Simmons and Barbour died immediately. The third victim survived, but committed suicide a year later due to his injuries.
