JK Rowling announces new Harry Potter play

On Friday, “Harry Potter” series author JK Rowling announced via Twitter that there would be a play added to the franchise, entitled “Harry Potter and The Cursed Child.” The production, which will depict a new story, will take the stage in London’s West End in 2016. Tickets will go on sale in the fall. Rowling promised fans that a play, instead of a book, is the best way to tell this story. She also revealed that the production will not be a prequel to the book series, but would not give any additional information. “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” the first in a movie trilogy based on a book featured in the “Harry Potter” series, is scheduled to premiere in 2016 as well.
