Government give $28 million to fund Baltimore-DC maglev

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan announced on November 7 of the federal government’s plans to award $28 million to the private venture Baltimore-Washington Rapid Rail to fund a magnetic-levitation train between Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Maglevs use magnetic technology that can make the train reach hundreds of miles an hour, and has already been well-established in China and Japan. The Baltimore-Washington maglev could potentially carry passengers across in almost 15 minutes.
