Former pediatrician charges with sex offenses

Montgomery County police have arrested Leslie Boyd Altstatt, 83, a former pediatrician at Walter Reed Army Medical Center on charges of sexually abusing three female relatives when they were children. Charged with numerous offenses, including sex offenses and child abuse, Altstatt, of Silver Spring, was arrested Friday. According to police, the accusers claim the alleged abuse occurred between 1964 and 1996. One woman says the alleged abuse happened when she was between the ages of 6 and 15. From the mid-1960’s until the early 1980’s Altstatt was a pediatrician and researcher for Walter Reed  The Maryland Board of Physicians website shows Altstatt’s medical license expired in 2010.
