Bowser appoints new administration members days before inauguration

Mayor-elect Muriel Bowser has appointed three more posts to her upcoming administration. Laura Green Zeilinger will head the Department of Human Services. Zeilinger previously served as the deputy head of the department during the Fenty administration; she now works as the executive director of the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness. LaQuandra Nesbitt, MD, will move from Louisville, Kentucky to head the Department of Health. She is currently serving as director of the public health and wellness department there. The final announcement Monday stated that Clinton Lacey, current deputy commissioner of the New York City Department of Probation will head D.C.’s juvenile justice department.
