Baltimore Mayor, Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, signed a bill on Thursday that prohibits some employers from asking job applicants about their criminal records. The bill imposes that private employers with more than 10 employees cannot ask about criminal history on job applications. Employers will have to wait until a conditional job offer has been extended to ask about an applicant’s criminal history.
