Maryland town to be featured in international New Year’s coverage

Easton, Maryland’s 10th annual New Year’s Eve Crab Drop will be featured on CNN’s international coverage of the night’s traditions. The news trucks will be in town from 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. to cover the First Night Talbot festival events, incliding the midnight crab drop. The event also includes art, entertainment, a mime, magicians, musical events and food, and it attracts about 1,500 people annually. The crab that drops is a 6-foot wide sculpture, which will be accompanied by a host of other sea creatures. The crab will drop twice, at 9 p.m. and at midnight.
