Joy Behar exits ‘The View’
The last of the original hosts of ABC’s “The View”, besides inventor Barbara Walters, will leave on Friday. Joy Behar, 70, says she wants to pursue something different without being held to the schedule of a daily talk show.
The standup comic and writer has been exploring different areas, and has mentioned meetings with CNN chief Jeff Zucker.
Behar said she did not want to do just one thing. She began her duties on the first episode of “The View” in 1997.
ABC has not yet mentioned a replacement for Behar. The network recently announced that Jenny McCarthy would replace Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who left for a job at Fox News Channel.
The producers of the show will face another problem when Walters retires next year.
