The National Air and Space Museum recently acquired more than 1,000 works of art, including prints, objects and other materials related to early flight techniques, including air balloons. The museum gained the Evelyn Way Kendall Ballooning and Early Aviation Collection from the Norfolk Charitable Trust in Sharon, Massachusetts. Kendall began collecting in the 1920s, and the collection contains material dating back to early balloon flight in 1783. Memorabilia of flights in Europe, American and Japan are part of the collection.
