WHITE HOUSE NEWS – Supreme Court orders Trump’s ballroom to continue temporarily

On Friday, Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts cleared the way for President Trump to temporarily continue building his $400 million ballroom at the White House. Roberts’ decision came hours before the lower-court ruling requiring the construction to end would have been enforced.

The chief justice’s decision is temporary, as the Supreme Court meets to consider the administration’s emergency request to resolve the legal fight. The lower courts ruled that Trump’s ballroom construction requires approval from Congress, while the president argues that as the sitting president, he has unilateral authority, particularly in light of the security implications mentioned in his objection.

While preservation groups argued against the continuation, Roberts and the court will make the final decision, despite having no clear date on when the ruling will be issued.
