Wall Street protesters to honor veterans with concert

In honor of Veterans Day, Occupy Wall Street organizers have planned a Veterans day rally and concert called “Honor the Dead, Fight Like Hell For the Living.” The event will feature Joan Baez and take place at Foley Square, marking the first permitted event Occupy Wall Street protesters have held in the city. The Occupy Wall Street movement marks its 56th day.

At other Occupy encampments around the country, violence broke out Thursday. A man was shot and killed at Occupy Oakland because of an argument near the encampment, according to police. At an Occupy tent in Burlington, Vermont, a man was shot and killed, reportedly self-administered. On the opposite end of the spectrum, a Wells Fargo branch that was vandalized during Occupy Oakland’s general strike received a $20,000 donation from Occupy Oakland.
