Virginia – Third Va. resident pleads guilty in robbery spree

Joshua Robert Berry of Bluewell, West Virginia, was the last of three people to plead guilty Tuesday in a robbery spree that ended with the death of a North Carolina shopkeeper. The 32-year-old was charged in U.S. District Court in Abingdon with armed robbery conspiracy and using a firearm in a robbery resulting in death. Berry’s accomplices, 27-year-old Emmanuel William Foster and 28-year-old Sarah Looney Berry, previously plead guilty. Authorities say in 2012 Berry and Foster robbed movie theaters in Wytheville and Abingdon while Berry’s wife, Sarah, drove the getaway vehicle. They also robbed a Mount Airy, North Carolina, convenient store that resulted in a shootout, killing store owner Donald Arnder and wounding Foster.
